Scenario

Two girls go missing. Police rookie Paul Chartier joins a secret unit tracking a sex offender. After the operation goes awry, Chartier goes after the perpetrators on his own, frustrated by the legal restrictions. I know it should say "if you can" … and I think that would have worked too … but I decided to go that way …

The film is based on a true story – and I have no idea what happened in the 90s … and from what I understand, it takes a lot of creative license … with who did what to whom … who survived and who didn’t … and I’m guessing the main character (police/gendarmerie) is a mix of many characters in one – obviously I could be wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case. That said, the film could be long (2.5 hours) but it never feels that way.

I would say no

Well, maybe during the wedding stuff at the beginning… been there, done that and I know that. Greeks party similarly – like Italians… is that necessary for the story? but maybe I’m missing something. The exciting part is really well done…

it’s well told and acted

you feel for the main character… a lot of things go wrong… he has the right eye, he has the right "nose"… but will he be able to convince the others of that? Many departments work almost against each other… still for me it lacks the x-factor to make this surpass…

more tension throughout

as much praise as it gets… and as good as it is… the final push is missing… maybe a little more charisma… and so on.
