Real-life residents of Carthage, Texas, who knew the real Bernie
Scenario
In a small Texas town, a friendly mortarman befriends a wealthy widow, though when she starts to become controlling, he does his best to break free from her grip. Teide and Marjorie Nugent appear in the film, commenting on the events. Bernie committed the murder in 1996, yet he answers his iPhone almost immediately after the murder.

Jack Black is simply amazing in this role
When I decided to watch this film, I was under the impression that it was a comedy, and while there are some humorous and funny moments, this is more of a drama than anything else. However, this was a good film that hooks you in and captivates you almost from the start. The fact that this film is based on a true story actually helps make it even better for someone like “Bernie”; really existed, just helps to draw you into his complex and strange world.
This movie is worth your time or money, depending on what’s more important to you
I never thought I would make this statement, but he is actually suburban and probably Oscar-worthy. It’s an enjoyable journey into the real life of a strange ball character who just keeps growing from start to finish.
