According to French newspaper Libération, the alleged sexual assault occurred in the middle of filming, after a party held with the cast and crew at the apartment on July 1, 2023. A member of the crew spent the night in the apartment where the party was held because he was drunk and was allegedly raped by Theis in the early hours of the morning.

According to Libération, meanwhile, the director claimed it was consensual

For the rest of the production, Theis remained on location but shot the film remotely.
